Summary

Bridge over the river Buddle (or Lym), probably of fourteenth century date. It is of one span with a segmental pointed arch and is constructed of stone rubble with ashlar dressings and chamfered ribs. The roadway was widened in 1913.

Full Description

The bridge across the River Buddle or Lim in Bridge Street, Lyme Regis, is probably 14th century. It has a single pointed arch of about four yards span, and two chamfered ribs still remain with traces of two others. The overall width of the original part is about 14 feet, but the bridge was widened in 1914. HHR Grade 1. <1> <3> <4>
