Full Description
ST 64311682, Hall House. Originally thought to be C17th but a thorough architectural analysis of the house suggests a C14th date. The original house was a partly timber-framed hall of three bays measuring 37 x 21 feet internally and 20 feet in height from the floor to the arch-braces of its two open trusses. These are ruined, base crucks rising from stone walls. A fourth bay, divided by a partition truss, exited east of the hall and there is evidence for a further bay to the west. Full architectural description with plans and line-drawings. (1)
