An unurned cremation in a small grave was found close to a Middle Bronze Age field boundary intersection during the 2005 excavation by Wessex Archaeology, in advance of development as part of Phase II of the Poundbury development. The grave contained the cremated remains of an adult/subadult about 15-25 years old, together with some pyre debris in the form of wood charcoal. This cremation was undated, but its location in the corner of a Middle Bronze Age field suggests it may be of MBA date. This cremation was cut by another similar cremation grave.
