Full Description
Wessex Archaeology conducted an archaeological watching brief during groundworks for the re-development for 17 retirement properties at the former Child’s Garage, Long Street in 1996.
Features interpreted as quarry pits almost certainly represent small-scale quarrying associated with the construction of nearby properties in the post-medieval period. This activity destroyed much of the evidence for earlier occupation of the site. [1]
