Full Description

Two diches were discovered during trenching on the eastern side of the valley running from Home Farm to Cokers Frome (Site 614). These features were parallel to each other and approximately 30m apart, on the same alignment as that of a surviving field boundary to the north east. The larger ditch was 4.5 metres wide and 1.2m deep. Its fill suggested gradual accumulation and contained one sherd of medieval pottery. The smaller ditch was 3m wide and 0.8m deep, with a chalkier fill reflecting the thinner soil cover at the higher point of the slope. No finds were recovered from this feature. <1>
