Summary
During the excavation of the site of a late Roman coin hoard in 1986, a number of sherds of briquetage of 'Fitzworth'-type containers and a small number of Roman pot sherds not associated with the coin hoard were recovered. These may point to the presence of a Roman settlement or saltworking site in the near vicinity.

Full Description
