Second World War anti-tank blocks are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945 running from Poole Park in the south northwest towards Longfleet following the western side of Bird's Hill Road. (1) Anti-tank blocks, made of reinforced concrete, were one of the coastal crust defence measures used to protect vulnerable areas during the Second World War. The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
