Summary
Six regularly spaced linear ditches, one with an adjacent line of small mounds are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s inland to the north of Butts Quarries and south of Longstone Quarries. The ditches and mounds may be Second World War anti-glider obstructions and are located within an area of regularly spaced mounds (see MDO29664).

Full Description
Six regularly spaced linear ditches, one with an adjacent line of small mounds are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s inland to the north of Butts Quarries and south of Longstone Quarries. The ditches and mounds may be Second World War anti-glider obstructions and may be associated with other features in the area, regularly spaced mounds of varying sizes (see MDO29663-4). The features are visible over an area measuring approximately 450 m by 220 m. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
