Full Description
'Barrows (39-49) lie N. of the South Circle and around the Centre Circle; some appear on Plate 80 (cf. plan p. 114). … (47) Barrow (02661026), is crossed on the E. side by the road from Cranborne to Wimborne Minster; diam. about 60 ft.' (1)
The barrow is visible as a cropmark on 1990s aerial photographs (2 and 3). The features comprise two concentric ditches, an outer 4m wide ditch and an inner 1.4m wide ditch, and a central mound 14m in diameter. The barrow has been truncated on its southeast side by a historic field boundary and road.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
