Summary
A Bronze Age bowl barrow situated on a plateau known as Black Hill. The barrow has a mound composed of earth, sand and turf with a diameter of 12 metres and a height of 1.4 metres. Surrounding the mound is a ditch from which material was quarried during the construction of the monument. The ditch has become infilled over the years, but will survive as a buried feature 1.5 metres wide. This bowl barrow, one of the Black Hill Group, is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery.

Full Description
This barrow has a diameter of 12.0 metres and a height of 1.4 metres. It has no surrounding ditch and is covered with heather and fern. A bowl barrow. <1>

A Bronze Age bowl barrow, one of the Black Hill Group, is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery. The barrow is formed of a sub-circular mound measuring 12 m in diameter. {3} It is scheduled together with five other barrows on Black Hill (see linked records) of which five could be seen on lidar imagery. This feature was digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
