Monument record MDO8047 - Bowl barrow, one of the Black Hill Group, Turners Puddle

Summary
Bronze Age Bowl barrow, situated on a plateau known as Black Hill. The barrow has a mound composed of sand, earth and turf which has been destroyed on its north eastern side by a trackway. It now has an elongated mound 13 metres by 7 metres and 1.2 metres high. Surrounding the mound is a ditch from which material was quarried during the construction of the monument. The ditch has become infilled over the years, but will survive as a buried feature 1.5 metres wide.

Full Description
This barrow has a diameter of 17.0 metres and a height of 1.6 metresin the southern quadrant. It is slightly mutilated on top and in thesouthern quadrant. It has no surrounding ditch and is heather covered. A bowl barrow. <1>

SY 83779395. This barrow has been destroyed on the NE by a track and is now an elongated mound 13.0m by 7.0m and 1.2m high. Resurveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5>
