Summary
Roman Catholic Church of St Mary and St Catherine. Built in 1846 to the plans of William Fry, architect. The church was constructed from rubble stone with ashlar Ham Hill stone dressings, ashlar bellcote and pitched slate roofs. The Church was demolished about 1977 and replaced by the present church.

Full Description
Roman Catholic Church of St Mary and St Catherine. Built in 1846 to the plans of William Fry, architect (1). The church was constructed from rubble stone with ashlar Ham Hill stone dressings, pitched slate roofs, and coped gables on kneelers. It had an ashlar bellcote. The windows had Decorated tracery and mouldings of late C14-C15 character (2).
The Church and adjacent Presbytery are Grade II Listed. The Church was demolished c. 1977 and the present church opened in May 1978.
