Full Description
A large near circular pit with sloping sides, 2.3m in diameter and 2.0m deep was excavated by Poole Museum Service Archaeological Unit during the evaluation of the proposed site of a new cemetery south of Magna Road, Poole and initially identified by geophysical survey. The pit contained five sherds of probable Late Bronze Age pottery, including one plain rim sherd, and 'a quantity' of undiagnostic flint flakes. (1)
A small irregular ditch was found about two metres away and may be associated, though no dating evidence was found.(1)
