Summary

A Late Bronze Age urned cremation burial was found during an evaluation excavation by Wessex Archaeology in 2001. The Late Bronze Age urn containing cremated human bone was found just below the ploughsoil. Another similar urn was found nearby in a small scoop, but no cremated bone was found.

Full Description

A Late Bronze Age urned cremation burial and possibly one other were found during an evaluation excavation by Wessex Archaeology in 2001. A Late Bronze Age urn containing cremated human bone was found just below the ploughsoil. The upper part of the vessel had been ploughed away. No visible grave cut was identified. Another urn, this one inverted, was found nearby in a small scoop, but no cremated bone was found. (1)
