Summary

Barrow 'DW17', ploughed almost flat and no in situ mound. Part of Ridgeway Hill Barrow Group. Not mentioned in Grinsell's major survey of Dorset Barrows.

Full Description

Barrow identified by aerial photographic transcription and geophysical survey (1) Barrow ploughed almost flat with no in situ mound. Circular ditch revealed with projected external diameter of 19m. Off centre pit, possible secondary burial. Excavated section suggests either upright posts or palisade, uncommon in Bronze Age Barrows (2)
