An old quarry shaft marked on the first edition OS map, also marked on the second edition map (1-2) The quarry shaft described above in (1-2) is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946. The shaft is sub-oval and measures approximately 21 m by 15 m. (3) It is located within an area of quarrying and spoil heaps (see parent record). This site was digitally plotted during the South west Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
