Summary

Two rectangular brick kilns form part of a brickworks at the end of Middle Chine. The kilns are probably of updraught type and were in use in the second half of the nineteenth century. Known from historic map evidence.

Full Description

Two rectangular brick kilns which form part of a brickworks at the end of Middle Chine are marked on the Ordnance Survey 25-inch map Epoch 1 (1870). (1) The kilns are probably of updraught type. The kilns had gone out of use by 1890 as they are no longer shown on the Ordnance Survey 25-inch map Epoch 2 (1890). (2)
