Abstract/Summary

‘An archaeological evaluation was carried out to determine the nature and survival of potential archaeological deposits at Foster’s School, Hound Street…A number of features of medieval date were recorded: this included evidence for structures on the street frontage and at the rear of the site, also several pits and a possible quarry. Medieval pottery recovered from these contexts is not sufficiently diagnostic to define the activities on the site more closely within the range of late 12th century to the 14th century.’
