Title Chapel of St John the Evengelist, Creech Grange near Wareham, Dorset. Report on the Structure.
Author/Originator
Date/Year 1983

Abstract/Summary

This report seeks to identify mainly the structural failures within the building, and its contributory defects, though it is not exhausted. Access though was not possible to the belfry, or the roof spaces over the chancel, vestry or north transept. There does not seem to be any immediate danger of structural collapse and fairly simple actions can be taken in order to remove any latent dangers there may be. This would include an arch which has moved considerably, though it does not carry much load. The ceiling in the roof space is sound and the cracks present in it are indicators of the differential settlement and consequent structural distress around the building.
