Abstract/Summary
'Terrain Archaeology carried out archaeological observations and recording during works on the north terrace of the Nothe Fort, Weymouth. The works to form the new terrace disturbed very little of archaeological significance and revealed a small additional part of the northern fort wall. Gun Port 9 had been blocked with Portland stone ashlar prior to the earthwork construction. No secure dating evidence was recovered, but an early twentieth century date for the works is most likely, probably associated with the installation of three new 6-inch guns on the rampart, undertaken some time during the period 1905–14.'
