SDO16965 - Land at North Farm, Chickerell, Dorset. Geophysical surveys

Report presenting the results of geophysical survey of 18.5ha in advance of proposed development at North Farm, Buckland Ripers, Chickerell. A series of ditched enclosures was identified in the north west of the study area. Anomalies suggesting a number of possible structures and smaller ditches were seen within the enclosures. A concentration of ferrous and/or fired materials, possibly wast from industrial activities, or disturbed ground was also noted. Anomalies interpreted as probable land drains, former field boundaries, and ploughing effects were also seen.
