Abstract/Summary
short note on small excavations and observations made during development in Dorchester during 1955 and 1956.
Sites include trial excavation at Greyhound Yard in advance of development for a shopping precinct during December 1955 in which part of a Roman building was discovered close to the car park.
Foundation trenches for a new house in the oundbury Estate, Bridport Road were observed in December 1956 revealing the ditch of th Roman aqueduct
A short length of wall foundations parallel with Glyde Path Hill, about 2 feet below the ground surface and four yards east of the cycle shed at County Hall, Colliton Park, proved to be of relatively recent date (SY 69059087)
