Abstract/Summary

An approximately 20m by 8m area was excavated in the area to the north of a stone structure, possibly a round house, identified during the archaeological evaluation. An irregular surface of burnt stone and charcoal was exposed. A single feature of unknown function was found associated with this surface. The only dating evidence is a single scrap of Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age Beaker pottery. The stone surface and feature were cut by a later pit filled with clay and large stones. Overlying the surface was one, possibly two field walls of post-medieval date.
