Description

AC archaeology undertook an archaeological evaluation of a plot of land adjacent to South Mill Lane, New Zealand, Bridport in advance of a proposed car park extension during September 2003. Four machine-dug trenches totalling 22.5 m in length were excavated. (1) (2) No archaeological features other than three post-medieval or modern pits and some services were exposed. One trench was positioned across the postulated line of the Saxon defences, but nothing other than a modern brick-lined sewer was found. (1) (2)
